Hey all I just got a new O.S .15 CV-X engine. Fully broken in. I know I broke this engine in properly as per the manual. What I'm having some difficulty with is the tunning and plugs. It seems I'm just burning through plugs I'm using O.S A3 (#6) plugs. Now I'm thinking the engine is running to hot 220-250 but if i try to richen it just dies. What does anyone suggest?

No worries everyone. I think i found out the issue. Must not have been pressure in the fuel tank. Last night the little nipple the line connects to broke off. I'm thinking it was eventually leaking and breaking until now :/

One other thing i thought of too. I replaced the fuel tank but its still running lean. I put an aftermarket (little bigger) air filter. I think it might be getting to much air with the fuel mix. Fianlly i went way out of factory tuning and i finally think i got it where it likes it. idles a little fast but temp. is staying down around 200-210. Whats the recomended temp for this engine?

Dont worry so much about temps as there are MANY variables that affect temp of an engine. Just keep it under 270-280 with a good smoke trail and not saggin on the top end when you go for those long runs. Also when u hit the throttle from a dead stop you want to see a nice puff of smoke come out and fade as it goes... but NOT fade out to nothing and sag down.. If the engine doesn't puff a good smoke trail from a stop/idle and it lugs down its too lean on the LSN/ AKA low speed needle. I see this very often with people trying to tune that arent real familiar with it. And believe it or not the LSN has alot to do with the overall tune and temperature of the engine... its not just the HSN you mainly have to worry about... they both have to be sinked it properly for a good tune. But its an OS and once you get it tuned it should hold it like a champ. OS are known for there easy tuning carbs! :)

Perfect thanks very much. I am pretty familiar with the tunning and yes i know its not all about the HSN. So your saying tho this o.s engine can run around 250-270ish safely? Thanks for the help!
