I have a RS4 3 and found a good deal on a O.S. .12 CV-R engine

can i use this engine in my rs4 3 and would it be a good replacement for the .15fe thats in my car now?

would there be a big performance increase or should i just stick with the fantom .12 or .15 that i plan on buying this spring..

I also am thinking of picking up this engine, (12 Outlaw motor has 5 ports, turbo head, rear exhaust, non-pullstart, 1.45HP/40,000 rpm, slide carb) i know its not a legal race engine but may pick it up anyway..

Any Feedback is appreciated

the o.s. cvr-x engines are great, I have the .15 cvr-x on my 3ss,can't brag enuff about this mill, easy to tune, awsome performance, reliable and like you said a great price?! the .15 is alittle ballsier than the .12 but also isnt a legal race mill, most parkinlot events dont mind though!:winnar:

Great !!!! thx dude feels like I've been waiting for a reply for years LOL!!! i do want an engine that is race legal, gonna have to call my lhs that holds the races and find out 1st hand.

The OS is a great engine BUT
The Fantom is rated .30 HP more and for an on road car is also rated up to 43,000 rpm and the OS 30,000.

The Fantom is a rear exhaust and the cv-r is a side.

Thx FastEddy for the specs !!

That is a pretty big difference in HP and RPM's, think I'm gonna go with the Fantom.

Is there a big difference in price or not really?
