Do you guys locktite your wheel nuts? And what other things do you locktite? I know to do metal to metal but other than that i'm not really sure.

Definitely loctite the wheel nuts. I can vouch for the fact that they will spin themselves right off. I had one come off (luckily El Pirata's room mate found it for me). El Pirata had one of his spin off that same day on the same track.

As for other things to loctite...all metal to metal joints and any screw that screws into metal. Make certain to hit the engine mount screws with a little bit. Don't want that thing to start sliding around if the screws get loose.
 
Blue or green? I hate the blue. I have never had the blue work right. Green all the way, but never red.

Whats so bad about red? It's all I use.

Yeah, and if memory serves me, you're also the one that uses a blow torch to unbend aluminum parts. Hmm, a blow torch will also soften red loctite. Coincidence? j/k

There's a flavor of red that is almost impossible to get free. I forget what the number is, but it is loctite brand.

I still manage to slam engines around and every other part under the sun. Maybe I should just weld stuff tot he chassis, lol.
 
Mine's held together by happy thoughts and wishful thinking.
 
I do now. Had a front wheel come off my NTC3 during a highspeed pass on the street. The wheel came off,thecar ground to a stop and the wheel was making a bee line for the storm drain at the end of the block . Luckily, it hit a pebble and it veered off to the left.
 
I've lost 3 wheel nuts to spinning off while driving.

It's such an easy fix, but the worst thing about it is if you don't have another you're done for the day. It's kind of a slap because it's not like you even broke anything, but you can't drive anymore because you lost a friggin wheel nut!

For some reason I've always been worried to loc-tite them, but I will for now on.
 
Loctite® 262 Red Threadlocker is a permanent, high strength product that is applied to fasteners up to 3/4" (20mm) in size before assembly. Designed for securing parts that must withstand heavy shock, vibration, or extreme chemical or environmental conditions. Localized heating and hand tools are required to separate parts. Suggested Applications: Assembly with air tools, cylinder block bolts, ring gear bolts, transmission shaft bolts.

I pretty much only use the blue.
 
Red is brutal to get off. Yes, BRUTAL! Especially if it is really metal to metal!!!

Green is great, all around, awesome. Nice part is, with an ultra fine tip adapter, you can apply it wherever the parts are already screwed together. It is MADE to penetrate through the threading. Great for the set screw on the Savage tranny for instance. Using the green, I didnt have to take the tranny apart.

Blue is also good for day to day, metal to metal screws. This is the one I use most.
