I just got a wolf pack two speed for my hpi type ss. It's a custom two speed setup, but with NTC3 two speed shoes. I installed it now and can't get the 2nd gear to engage.

So my questions to you guys are:

1. What are the stock settings for the two ball bearings?

2. And how do you tune it to either shift earlier or later?

Thanks

Since this is a custom setup that I'm not familiar with, I have no idea about the stock setup for the ball bearings.

As for tuning the second gear, just remember that the more you tighten the two spring loaded screws, the later it is going to shift.

Thanks Scotto, I didn't know if it was the same as my stock 2nd speed.

I have an NTC3 and according to the manual, you should start at 2 1/2 turns out on the shoes. I tried this though, and mine wouldnt shift either. I found that it shifts just right at about 2 3/4 out. Be careful, it is super sensitive, only a half turn will cause it to go from not shifting to shifting super early.

BTW - are u sure its not starting off in second gear? sometimes the shoes stick to the inside of the bell also.

I got the two speed to work properly. I turned it out way too much where the allen set screw stuck out of the clutch and was sticking to the inside wall of the cup. For NTC3 owners I think you don't have a cup surrounding the clutch. So I took it apart and fixed it.

And Nitronewbie you are right. I adjusted to a 1/4 out and the shift time was so much later then before I adjusted.

Thanks for your help guys:yes:
