I recently bought this NTC3. Got it running, and it won't shift. Full throttle, still nothing. I know you can adjust the shift points, but I don't have a clue where to adjust at. I see the set screws when the 2 speed spins around inside. A black one and a silver one, is that where I adjust it at? And what direction?

It works like a clock. turn the clock from noon to one and it's later. Noon to 11 and it's earlier. Never go more than an 'hour' at a time, then test it.

also, it could be tuning. when i first got my CT5 it was so rich it wouldnt shift. once i had the motor broken in and tuned, it shifted fine without changeing the shift points.

something to check on.

once it was tuned up it did great. I have a video Somewhere on google video of it and you can hear it shifting very prominantly. I've been looking for it, but it think it was lost in one of googles early conversions of their video site software.

After I got my NTC3 broke in I was wondering about the shifting, never could hear anything. I started to adjust the shift points and found the thing was shifting almost immediately, that's why I couldn't hear any change. I ended up about 1 full turn tighter on the screws to push the shift point up to where it should be, now you hear a very definite shift.

Now I'm going to gear it lower, it's geared so tall now that I need about 75-100 yrds for it to tap out in 2nd. There aren't that many places I can run with enough room to utilize the current gearing, though the speed is pretty darn impressive.
