A quote from Nitroaddict........

"If there is one thing I have learned it is that every engine will start. There are only four things that make a nitro engine run:

Fuel
Air
Compression
Combustion

All of these things must be in effect to start. So lets check them out.

Fuel: Can you see the fuel going from the line into the carb?

Air: Is the carb opening, is the airfilter clean?

Compression: Is there compression? If it is a new engine you should be ok. You can check it by manually turning the flywheel with your thumb, it should be almost impossible to do.

Combustion: Have you checked the glow plug on the igniter while it is out of the car, and made sure it glows bright?

If all these things check out than it can only be one thing: You need to adjust the mixture of the fuel and air."

Let us know what you find out.

which way should i try to turn the flywheel? I can turn it counterclockwise but not clocwise, this is a new engine, its only been ran one tank. Also when i turn car over, fuel comes out of the pipe, is that bad?

Well if its a new engine the settings are going to be very rich. So right now seeing unburnt fuel out of the pipe is a good thing. Also since its a new engine we can pretty much be assured the compression is ok. Did you double check the glow plug? Take it out and touch it to your glow warmer. It should nice and bright. The only thing left is your needles. Double check them according to the manual of your engine.

Is this the kit or the RTR ? If it is the kit, what mill do you have? If the RTR then the AE.12 is fairly simple to tune.

It was the glow plug. I got a new one and the engine started in 2 pulls. It is the Ae .12. Thanks for all your help!

Funny , something so tiny can actually cause so much grief! I check that when things like that start happening.
