Ok guys, here it is. The first design of my first body. Bodies will be at an introductory price of $10 plus shipping. Now you say, "Well Hey, I could get a Crowd pleazer for that much" And I then respond telling you how almost everyone chooses the crowd pleaser as an upgrade body.

Here is your chance to get a durable, good looking body. All bodies are made of 0.030 material, for flexiblility, and durability. This body is specifically made for the RC18T and MT, however it may fit the mini-t and other 1/18 scales much like other bodies.

And here is the one I am currently using. This was the first body, so I didnt know how it was going to turn out. In the above pictures, the mold was sanded down for a cleaner look. Your body will look better.

Paypal and Money Order will be accepted, as well as personal checks once cleared. All bodies will be made after money is recieved and will be shipped as soon as possible.

To start, bodies will come with only the clear body. Nothing else, I dont have window masks completely ready yet. Hopefully I can get those soon.

Now hurry and pick yours up soon before the introductory price raises.

Thanks for your interest.

Great effort....I dont have a truck that size....hmmm are you looking to grow this enterprise???

Not quite that big. Just looking to get some more bodies out on the 1/18 market.

Are you just pouring hot lexan into a hardened clay mold??? Wouldnt injection molding work better??

I know cost and all......but isnt that a better way to do it?

Nope. I am using a vacuum forming tecnique, No pouring, just forming hot plastic.

I hate to be the harsh critic but I think you should go back to the drawing board with this one. The body needs to be smoothed out and refined before you attempt to sell them. I can't see too many of these bodies selling at 1/10 the price.

None taken. Thanks for the advice, I smoothed it out for what I can now. I made this without many tools really, mainly just my hands. I'm trying my best and hope people express interest.

great job in my eyes....after awhile youll be selling all kinds of bodys

I think it's a really good attempt. It takes a skilled hand to do something like that at the quality level of a mass produced product. Keep at it!

Thanks for all the feedback everyone, good and bad. I sanded the mold pretty good last night and I will work on it more later probably. Then if I post pics of it, could you guys tell me where it needs work? In my eyes, its already good, but its the customers I also have to please.

Ok, let me know if this one has improved at all. I took off the flash on my camera, because I dont like how it flashes and get the object, then darkens everything else. Tell me the spots that need work.

What about making your form out of wood? Something like balsa is light enough to be sanded smooth for good finish, but should be firm enough to deal with the vaccuum, correct? Just a thought.

You raise a good point, however I thought of that an considered it. It would make a nice easy finish, but if I carved to deep or made a mistake, its pretty much done for. You can't exactly "add more wood" to fill in a gap as easy as something like clay.

Wood putty my man, wood putty.

Pat, I have to say I'm very impressed with your effort .... keep on, keepin' on!

Good luck,

Mr T

You know what you should do is get some spot putty or bondo and fill in the low spots. That way if you do sand to much or get sanding lines, they will be filled in. Its almost like doing body work on a 1:1, where the prep is what will make or break you. You want everything shaped as good as possible and smooth as possible.

So far your doing a very good job. I'm impressed. Just keep plugging away.

Thanks everyone for your input, I just got done making another body. I have to say myself, this one looks lots better. I will sell/give this to my bashing buddy and he is going to trim and paint it. It is better shaped and I will post pics when its done!

There is a picture of a body just made. Masking the windows was a bit shoddy, but ignore that and focus on the body work.

did ya sand down the lines for the roll bar in the back? I can't really see them by the pic.. Looks like a decent start though, for sure. Just keep pluggin away. Something I'm sure your gonna have ALOT of bodies laying around till ya get it perfect. Will be sweet when ya get it finished up though.
