i currently run a fleet of rb concept motors but am contemplating a move to novarossi because i can get them about 200 bucks cheaper has anyone got anything bad to say about them???????????? please dont hold back any faults I want to know,

i dont know bout the 421B.. personally.. but i heard it was supposed to replace the P5.. i run a P5.. and that motor is sick.. great power.. and easy to tune.. the 421b is a new motor.. and coming from Novarossi.. it should be great.. i heard alot of people talkin bout this motor on sgrid.. saying is a good motor.. but dont get the turbo head one..

do any of you know about the 421b nova

any coment on the nova 421b please, although i spose no coments are good coments, and whats wrong with turbo plugs ?

nothing wrong with the turbo plugs. some say they are easier to burn up but i haven't seen that myself. the 421b is a good mill in the power department, but most guys are only seeing two gallons at the most before its gone. seems kinda like the os vzb as its an expensive motor that wont last a long time. my top 421b has a gallon through it and still seems to be fine, but you may be better off with the new os rzb or whatever it is, P5, any RB, or a good picco. personally i wont recommend the 421b to anyone.

Thabnks for that I currently run 3 WS7 rb concepts in my cars but i can get the novas about 200 bucks cheaper, rebuilds on the rb are basicaly pull the motor out and throw it away, to damn exspensive to justify a rebuild so at 750 a motor you can imagine its getting exspensive to stay on top

Just a couple more pennies on the top/nova/rex line....
I've ran a couple of Top 421b's and yes, one popped within 3 gallons,, one lasted quite some time,,, both had incredible amounts of power though... Turbo and all... the one that popped had erratic behavior shortly after break-in, then the piston shattered,, sounded almost like a fuel / lean problem but it was fatty all the way till "popping"... so that's what I have had with the Top's...

The rex 421b I've been using has been very reliable though,, it's the newest version, 4 bolt head (both of the Top versions were the 6 bolt head) and has been decent on mileage.. in the 220-230 range with a Rex 053 pipe, the motor is to much for our local track,, I have to pull it till we get down south again on a bigger track..
2 more pennies..

thanks hirez
seems to me that the top 6 bolts are actually pretty reliable just reading the write ups on them, every brand of motor has a bad one from time to time I've had rbs blow up after about 10ltrs not even leaned them out to race performance so i guess to give them a fare chance wouldnt hurt, rbs also seem to leak alot around the head, do the novas do it or are they pretty clean, (no leaks) were you running the nova plugs or were you using the like of the os plugs, they burn hotter so they dont recomend using them in the rbs and novas, and from exsperience your motor does run hotter on the non nova or rb plugs
