If i were going to put the novak 4.5 HV in my e maxx what would be a good idea for a lipo battery dont know alot about batterys could i use dual lipos
 
The HV esc can take up to 16.8 volts so you will be able to use a pair of 2S lipos.
 
Rob is correct it works well....I have seen two 2s Lipo with the HV in a 1/8 scale buggy and it's silly. Darn near over-powered. For normal playing around or track he would use a single 3s and it was about perfect. The 4s just made it a missle that was hard to drive. But.. very fun.
 
could i run a single 3s lipo with the e maxx while running the novak
 
Yes.

You can run up to a single 4S.

I am selling a brand new HV 4.5 setup in the for sale forum in case you are interested.
 
Uless it is all out power and speed you want , then you might think about a more mild HV system like the 6.5, it will give you longer run times and still plenty of speed and power on 2 2s lipos.
