So I've got my new Novarossi Roma .25 today. After unboxxing it I right away noticed two things that impressed me. Peeking into the exhaust port I noticed the three ports cut into the sleeve. Two smaller ports timed earlier than one large. This must have some sort of scavenging effect plus looks pretty trick!
Second, is the long tapered needle. I personally have never seen a needle configuration like this. Unlike most engines, this one is metered by the low side needle untill the last 80% of throttle throw. Very nice!

Another thing about this engine that is new to me are the carb venturies. The engine comes with a 7mm insert pre-installed. Included in the package were three smaller sized inserts.

What should I do with these venturies? Should I break in the engine with the standard 7mm installed and later take it out? or take it out and run it wide open

Nothing the matter with that carb, trust me I just tuned one last week. Purrrrrrs like a kitten and roars like a lion.

I break in the novas with one of the mid sized venturi. After a good break in I then install the largest and run a bit more fuel through it before running without a venturi.
The venturi's will make a pretty big difference in fuel consumption and power. You can use them to your advantage to tame the engine depending on the track you run on.
