some body with this head in a trx 2.5? my engine doesn't start , i try adding two shims to the head ,two glow plug gasket,lean the mixture,new glow plug,no way,doesn't fire!put back stock head and vrooom,almost instant.please help guys.
 
um, try riching the engine. like i had posted in a previous post, he had to do minor adjustments and the one that he had to do was richen it. try that and see what it does.

well,i lean the mixture,but didnt try richen it,i will try tomorrow.
 
after one hour trying to start the engine with this damn head for the trx 2.5,playing with the needles,it start but only for a minute and die again,try again and take like one more hour to start and die again.its cranks funny with the nova head,like to much compresion or preignition,I'm not sure.could be a defective head or i have a worn sleeve? with stock head start inmediatly but dies after 5 minutes of racing and will need to cool to start again.temps never pass 220 degrees.I'm thinking to change the piston and sleve,but if i do it,i go with sirio piston and sleeve.what you think guys..........?
 
I am not sure if the sirio sleeve and piston fit, but its more likely your sleeve and piston are messed up, how did you break in the engine, how hard do you run it?
 
i follow traxxas breaking step by step.i dont ran it to much time at full throttle,just like 2seconds pulls.sirio have a piston&sleeve for this engine,part #t15041322,i will order it tomorrow from RC hobbies.nova tech help told me to try with an additional washer in the plug.that was the first thing i do when i saw the head and compare the combustion chamber of both heads and notice the smaller chamber of the nova head.i will try with a total of 3 washer in the glow plugs since i use mc -59 long plug and this head seems made for use short glow plug.i want to keep with mc-59 because i get 12 at ebay for $3.66 each with shipping.

finally start ok.a brand new .35mm head washer and its perfect. but still shutdown and doesn't start until cool when ran for long time.the engine is running 190 temp with body off.i order today the sirio piston &sleeve.
