just got my 2.5 t-maxx truck back together did the 3.3 upgrade went threw the break in cycle wont shift into second gear oh put 3.3 trans with opti drive when the truck suppose to shift it falls on its face and cuts out any suggestions

it sounds like it is running too rich. turn the high speed in a hair. its not shifting couse the rpm's arent peaking and its falling down at the top end. try that. once you get it screaming in first and it still wont shift, adjust the second gears shift point. dont adjust the shift point untrill you get the motor running right.

Agreed. First thing to due is make sure you have a good tune on your engine. Good power, good smoke, good temps. Then you can look at adjusting the 2-speed.

Due like itsalife mentioned. Try leaning out the mix a tad, this will create more top end power and speed but at the expense of cooling, so be careful. The thing to keep in mind when running you nitro is that you always want to see a good blue smoke trail when you are on the throttle. If you are gassing it hard and the engine sounds like it's making a lot of revs but very little smoke trail, then you definitly want to richen the mix. Running too lean is bad bad bad.

BTW- we are talking about the High Speed Needle when we refer to rich/lean. clockwise turn= leaner, counterclockwise turn= richer.

Mine was taking forever to shift...with help fine tuned the engine and adjusted shift point now it seems to have an incredible mid range.
