when i hit the gas, it will wheely most of the time but every now and then, when i hit the gas the truck won't move but the motor willl rev. is this a bad clutch? if it was, wouldn't it not be grabbing at all?

If it were your clutch shoes when you punched the throttle, your engine would build rpms then start to spin your clutch. What you can do the check that is put your truck up on a starting block or something so the wheels have no contact with the ground. Then turn your throttle trim up slowly and see how high the rpms are before your wheels start to turn. Also check your gearmesh between your cb and spur.
