FOR THE LOVE OF IT ALL, STAY AWAYYYYY!!!! The tower for the rear, mainly. I've dented in 2 manifolds now. The dang thing is so friggin rubbery, when I flip my Maxx it bends so much it dents my manifold. The damn manifold for the sirio 18 is $79.99 and you think I'm gonna pay that overpriced BS you're crazier than Mike Tyson himself. After that one, I rigged up the stock 2.5 manifold to fit and it still dented with that cast iron piece in there. The 2.5 header is strong as hell, and the dang RPM shocktower won again!!! STAY AWAY!!!

(As a side note, the 2.5 manifold actually performs pretty decent.)

Good thing I noticed this thread I was thinking of getting acouple of those things thanks for telling me.

I've heard this before, remember-RPM products are flexible so they dont break, great for A-Arms but bad for shock towers. they also perform less consistenly than aluminum or titanium towers.
Id suggest some hardcore towers for your next purchase.

What are you doing that you are bending the snot out of your shock towers like that?

And if they were stock or alum would you just have a broken shock tower to boot? And more damaged parts because the tower gave out exposing more parts to a beating?

I really want to know what happened that cause this anyhow....

I can agree, if you are going through 90$ headers, something has to change....

ya no poop, i dont see how in the hell it would be messing up ur manifold. what are u doing? going off of 50ft cliffs and landing on the back? i have had my rpm shock towers for over 1 1/2 years and never had nothing bad happen.

Not necessarily true. I run Hardcore Racing towers with stock plastic body posts. The body posts get bent to hell everytime I take a signature cartwheel landing, but the shock towers do not budge.

I would suggest that if you are not happy with the RPM towers, go for either the stock or spring for an aluminum set. Rigid shock towers are a must for best shock performance. Remember if the shock supports flex, then the shocks are less effective and the flexing part starts to do the absorbing.

Part of the fun... is that oh ish feeling when you know it will be ugly, and the ooohs and ahhhs from the crowd when it is ugly are priceless.

What happens is when I flip my truck the truck lands on the body posts because they are the highest thing so obviously they hit first. With the RPM's, they are rigidly connected to the shock towers by 4 screws. Well, being the rubber that they are the posts bend bending the towers slams the round part on the top of the post into the top of my header.
here's what the post looks like: 0-----0 the round part on the end is what I'm reffering to. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!! (at least from the rear)

btw, NOT 50ft cliffs.....more like a 6-7 feet upside down landing, and a cartwheel.

So the shock towers are fine. The RPM body posts are your problem?

Upside down landing? You want to learn how to even out?
=========
Heres SHK's Landing Method

1. Tune car-We dont want it bogging when you try to accellerate!
2. If nose is going up- LIGHTLY Tap the brakes
3. If nose is diving- lightly tap the gas.
Note: If this is for a 2wd stadiumtruck or buggy, you might need to be more aggressive on the tapping of the accellerator and brakes.
4. If it is perfect-Keep it that way.
5. Landing-Upon landing dont accellerate hard because your truck is going to bounce and flip over.
6. Have fun!

nonono, the posts are fine, it's because the towers bend so much it puts the post right into the header and BAM instand dent.

Okay. Get back to stock towers (more rigid) or pick up a set of aluminum towers. If you are going to go the aluminum route, I recommend Hardcore Racing towers. They are expensive, but beefy as all get out. I beat the snot out of my T-Maxx and have not had a single problem with the towers.

10-4 I'll see what I can do. Thanks for the suggestions!

i have a pair of hardcore towers i will sell. along with a servo moount. they are used but they look really good. $50 for both and an aluminum servo skid. email me at [email protected] if interested.
