Well today things were going well. The new OS is settling in nicely. Getting stronger with every tank. So I decided it's time to resume my usual bashing. Last weekend I completed my second ramp. I now have 2 ramps that are 36" long, 24" wide and 27" high. I was jumping the Maxx a bit. No problems. Getting used to flying it. Then decided it was time to kick the chains off. It was time for the front flip. First time, got it up and running. Hit the ramp and instantly hit the brakes. Got almost all the way around. Landed just on the rear bumper. Bounced and all was well. Second attempt. Gunned it. Hit the ramp. Hit the brakes. And landed square on the lid. Engine died on impact. So I walked over to my dead Maxx wondering what gave when it hit. Flipped it over and at first glance all looked ok. Linkages were fine. Needles were still attached. But then I noticed fuel pouring out of it. Seems I shattered 3 of the fuel tank mounts. So now it can't hold a drop of fuel. Sucks. So now it's in the morgue until I can get an order in to Tower for a pair of new tanks just to make sure it doesn't slow me down again....

You call that damage...a busted fuel tank. Man...we need to work on your perception.

Ok, so it's not dead. But since I have no LHS, it's going to be out of commission for better than a week. That sucks. The upside is that when I order a new one from Tower I'll have to order enough stuff to make the shipping worthwhile. So it looks like I'll be getting a few new project bodies sooner than I thought.

Damn, that thing is sweet! Big price tag, but definitely sweet. I'm thinking about it...

Did you click on the 'more info' link ? It gives you a completely manageable 3-d works model to check out. I just seen that! DOH!

CANDY MAN......I FOUND A FAT SHOP THAT SAYS THEYLL BEAT ANY TOWER PRICE..................SOUTHEASTRC.COM......THEY DO MAIL ORDER 22222...............GOOD LUCK

Candyman, come back when you can say your t-maxx was run over by a BMW (full size) or maybe when you can say you hit a stationary object at full throttle and watched the magestic arc of pieces flying in several directions.

Keep practicing and maybe one day you'll earn the title of "Master of Disaster."

Damage?! That's minor. When you taco a chassis, bend all the shocks, break bulkheads, and tranny gears. That's damage.

That's cool that you're learning how to fly. Here's a video of one of the guys that I bash with learning how to fly off of a skateboard ramp. The only damage, I believe were just the bulkheads. Enjoy!

For jumping I found running bumpers just makes your plastic bulks break. I took off my bumpers are its way better for jumping. I was able to do a barrel roll, front flip and, back flip with the T. With its huge tires its one of the easier ones to flip because the throttle/brake control does so much while airborne. The secrect to the back flip is to be throttling way hard on the lip of the jump so dump throttle at the last second. This pitches the nose way high. Keep the throttle pegged until the front end is almost like this \ just so the nose is a little past the tail. Then brake hard to complete the flip.

Sounds like you've been taking lessons from me the way you describe those minor mishaps. I particularly like your term "taco the chassis." Sounds like what my chassis looked like after I played chicken with a BMW.

I broke my fuel tank after 2 days of having it. Cracked it off of a pavement. Now I need to wait for tower hobbies
