Well fedex just delivered my sportmaxx and I noticed there is no foam in the tire, is this something I should go out and buy before glueing?

My road rage tires came with foam so I assumed they would also..

also can I use superglue for the tire or do I need to get tire glue at my lhs?

Do you want foam in your tires? I have not tried a sportmaxx with or without foams however my buggies run equally well with and without foams in them as does my savage, actually my buddies savage now.

Go buy some foam for your stock SMaxx tires. The foam has two purposes. One is to help absorb some of the shock from jumps, instead of your rim. 2nd is to help the tire keep some of its form when taking corners.

You can use superglue to glue the tires. Make sure you don't get any on the rim. It won't hurt anything, but it won't look as nice.

For rock crawling, slow speed driving, not having foam is fine. But if you intend on jumping and bashing the crap out of it (like everyone else), I would suggest getting foam. Like DL said, it helps absorb the shock of jumping and without it, cornering is going to be sloppy at best. From what I've seen, most buggies don't run with 1 1/2" of rubber between the rim and the ground either. Different application has different results.

Yes,

Do like others have pointed out and get yourself some foam. Trinity actually makes some excellent foam inserts for the stock T-maxx tires that will make your truck somewhat more stable compared to the stock foam.

Running your tires without foam is the same principal as running real off-road truck tires with as little air pressure as possible (real bead lock wheels on real trucks help for this purpose). On-road, the highspeed stability of your truck is dramatically decreased without foam. If your going to be doing allot of onroad driving, I highly reco using Pro-Line Road rage wheels (standard size) on whatever wheels of your choice (I'd reco RPM wideMaxx offset wheels).

I run My Big Joes without foam now for maximum traction for rockcrawling and whatever off-road purpose I want. I also ran the stock Maxx tires without foam with excellent off road "low speed" results. I put the Trinity foam in them as I prefer the larger size of the big joes without foam for those purposes. In the future, it's nice to have different sets of tires and wheels dedicated for whatever purpose.

Peace
