  1. Bashing
Just as i was starting to bash my t-maxx sounded different so i took of the body and i looked around. Then i see it my header isn't sealing and is pi$$ing out exuast(sp?). So i take it in side take off the header, and then i see it the header gasket is ripped in 3 different spots !!! And i just bought my RPM bumpers and there was fuel and dirt all over them !!! So now it is all off and i'm going to go to the LHS tomorow or Tuesday for the gasket !!!That was a major bumber for me !!

Why wait to buy a gasket, you can make one out of a manila folder rather easily and you don't even need a template as long as you have the header off the engine.

I wouldn't suggest making an exhaust gasket from a manilla folder. I haven't actually tried this method, but common sense would tell me that it would last no time at all. You can buy a large sheet of gasket material from your local auto-parts store if you are inclined to cut your own gaskets. This is an inexpensive, but time consuming method. Most parts manufactures sell replacement gaskets. Personally, I buy the HPI gaskets. They come five to a pack, and they cost less than five bucks. Dynamite also makes an aluminum gasket that they include with all of their headers. I haven't used them, but they may be a long term solution to torn gaskets.
