I am a newbie to Nitro cars so i would like some advice Please!!!^^:n00bie:

Sorry for the Newbie Questions....... :sorry:

Does anyone know where to get these Kit for around $250 or less In the net???

I dunno about the rear or side exhaust differences. My NTC3 is side exhaust. Never tried rear. But I do know the differences between the pull and non pull since I have ran both in my car.

What I like about the non-pull is that it saves me a lot of sweat in the summer since I don't have to mess with a pull start. Starts up right away. Only downfall is that you have to get a starterbox and carry it around, which can be anywhere from $79 and above. Then there's the battery sticks or 12v cell and charger yadda yadda yadda. Plan on spending at least $100 extra.

As for the pull start type ... it has it's upas and downs as well. What I liked about the pull start is that you can also adapt it to use a starterbox as well; less to carry around when just bashing. What I found hard about the pullstart is that if you don't tune your engine right, you could have a harder time starting your engine, but that's all part of the learning curve, even with the nonpull types.

All in all, it's up to you as well as your budget. You can get a pull start engine for now and just adapt it to a stater box later. That way you'll have the best of both worlds.

:radio:
This is a really hard choice. Is there a way to make the rear exhaust kit to side exhause kit with some pop up parts?

You can do a conversion from side exhaust to rear, pullstart to non pullstart.

here's the difference:
side exhaust/ rear exhaust has different header and exhaust pipe

pullstart/non pullstart has different motor mounts and flywheel.

I've done every combination with my ntc3 no problem. So don't worry about it, conversion isn't hard, you just need the money for parts.

I run the non-pull rear exhaust and love it. I like the 'straight through' design of rear exhaust mills. I think they perform better. And I love just bump starting on my starter box. LOVE IT!

I've got a NTC3 RTR and it is pull start/side exhaust. When I was breaking in the engine, I wished I had a starter box. But now that it's fully broken in, the pull start is fine.

Before you buy a kit, you should really have your mind made up as to what radio and which engine you are going to put in it - all these choices influence each other. For example, if you want a motor with a slide carb, you'll need a radio with end point adjustments.

The most important thing is to get the kit that matches the engine you have your eyes on - otherwise you'll be purchasing more parts. Since you said you were new to nitro cars, keep in mind that the kit takes a short shaft .12 for competition or a small block, short shaft .15 engine for bashing.

I've heard that rear exhaust motors tend to perform slightly better, and some racers feel the pull start robs power. My impression is that most of the hardcore racers use the rear exhaust/non pull start kit - a starter box would be required. If you plan to compete, you may be better off with the rear exhaust/non pull start kit.

You can still use a starter box with the pull start kit - I think that kit has the best of both worlds. I got a nitro car to get away from the problems and expense of ni-cads, so I really don't want to rely on a starter box to start my nitro car.

If I had to do it all over again, I would get the pull start/side exhaust kit with the OS Max .15 CV-RX (S).
