Nitro t3.0 question

I have a new hpi t3.0 engine that i installed in my hpi rs4 car. The question i have is during the break in process and even now this engine is blowing alot oil out the exhaust.what a mess it makes! Is this normal,it does put out blue colored smoke.is there anything that needs to be done to stop this?
I'm still new to the hobby and am learning as i go.

No matter what your going to have some fuel spitting out but if its tuned properly it should be minimal get u a silicone exhaust extension it will make a world of diff

To be honest i havent touched any adjustment on the engine. I installed it in my car and started the break in process. I figured it was adjusted the way it needed to be for break in. It does stall out sometimes on full throttle. I guess i'll have to look into adjusting things. The fun part of nitro rc's...lol

Yea your running rich then and are going to have excess fuel spitting out look at the sticky threads above the user posts in the nitro rc talk

Yep it's better to be very rich during break in. I have the same engine on an MT I just replaced awhile back. If it is sputtering and bogging too much and wont even move it may be a bit too rich as mine was, i very slightly leaned it JUST enough to where it would run well enough to get it moving, every engine is different. If it runs enough to be able to break it in leave it alone! It's also normal for it to die occasionally, just start back up and run, stick to the recommended procedure.

Check your exhaust gasket also. And not for nothin take the engine off and make sure it's all tightly together. I just bought a brand new t3.0 for my rs4 and the flywheel and back plate were loose and almost caused a lot of issues. Just something to look into

One simple way to know if you have an exhaust leak is your low end torque will skyrocket and your top end will lack, and it will be more noticeable depending on the amount of leak from lack of back pressure, also it would get louder, again more so for a bigger leak. Even if he had a leak it wouldnt increase the amount of unburnt fuel, but it would indeed make a mess of your chassis. This would be bad for the engines life as well.

All the unburnt fuel is out the exhaust.i havent adjusted anything yet,i know the last part of break in is some full throttle pulls and when i go full throttle it will stall out sometimes. I'm gonna tweak it alittle next time i mess with it. Thanks for the advice everyone.

It's not uncommon to stall during break-in, just start it back up and continue. Just make sure your hitting over 200F and you're good. You really need to be above 200 for a proper break in.
