ok with no rcnitrotalk and good temps today i am breaking in my s .25

i decided to go with the heat cycle method i would start it and wait till it got to 190f
then let it idle for 2 - 2 1/2 minutes then id put a rag over the stinger to kill it and let it cool to room temp with the piston at bdc

i have done this 12 times already.... tomorow i will lean it slightly and do some low speed passes working to 1/4 throttle and back for 4 tanks then 1/2 throttle and back for 4 more tanks then lean it a little do some 3/4 throttle maybe some quick wot then start leaning for power

my question is this i was running the engine inside my shop about 60f
at the end of the 2 1/2 minutes of idle the engine would get around 240f...... i am running a motor saver airfilter so from the start i richend the hsn about 1/2 to 3/4 turn and the lsn about 1/4 turn should the engine be getting to 240 at idle? ..btw its a simi high idle meaning the savage is on a box and the idle is engaging the clutch so the wheels are spinning at idle if that helps?

no one can tell me if my engine should have got to 240 degrees running idle for 3 -4 minutes during heat cycle break in?

come on throw me a bone here lol

In my opinion breaking in at anything lower than 180 isn't breaking her in. Thats me. I prefer a different way.

jon2 i dont get what you mean....i did get the temps up ....in fact i did not start the timer untill the engine hit 190 degrees then once at 190 i let it run 2 - 2 1/2 minutes

or are you saying it should have been brought up to 190 before starting it?

No I mean in the method I run I consider break in when you put a load on it not letting it idle. I know that there are proven methods that say that the heat cycle works but I am stubborn! LOL

If you have the directions on how to heat cyle then please continue. Don't mind me.
