hey,
I am getting back into nitro rc and have some questions. After visiting the LHS i am very oogled! I am going to be honest with you that i am going to be putting some wear on it. I plan on taking it out to motocross tracks with me to have some fun on 15+ foot doubles and tables ect. I have heard great things about the rustler and like the roto start. I am just looking for a solid reliable jumpable truck. I have seen the rc10gt and the MT2 but the rustler is fast, lightweight, and electric! Maybe i should be getting a buggy though for a motocross track.... Give me some ideas guys!

Thanks,
drew

Well, if your going to the track, i highly recomend a monster truck. I ride to, and i already tried my stadium truck on the track. If you really want something to bash around with and handle 15 foot dubs and tables, try a HPI Savage. But if you really want to get a stadium truck, i would go with either a nitro rustler, or an XTM X-Cellerator.

Nitro Rustler: 50mph
good basher
lots of hop up items
I think they come with plastic shock bodies
X-Cellerator: 50mph
good basher
not very many hop up items
Aluminum shocks

I've got the X-Cellerator and i take mine out to the track and do 50+ dubs
I love it and highly recomend it. The only thing is the turn buckles snapping. U would have to replace those with titanium, unless you land corectly all of the time.

But then what does your lhs carry?

Savage 25
X-Cellerator

the rustler sux dont get that if u want a good realiable truck that handles auseum get a team losi xxx-nt rtr its a good truck with lost of hop-ups and speed

Hawkbadass, Just because you may not now how to handel the rustler doesn't mean it sucks. I have a Nitro Rustler and I love it, Tons of hop ups that you can't get with the losi's. The rustler is a very strong truck. There are only a few weak points, rear shock tower a rims. I have drivin a xxx-nt rtr sport and I have seen that think break more thank anything, The rustler is faster stronger and more fun. If you have any questions on the Rustler you can PM me.

Thank you

I agree with Mayhem. The nitro ruslter is a solid truck, and there are few weak spots. Rear shock tower and the rear bulkhead, along with the shock caps. Other than that, it is an extremely good basher. Highly reccomended!

man hawk youve got quite the atidude for a noob. Your opinions are yours, and mayhem's are his. Starting a fight over something like this is totally unnecessary!

Hey Jack ass I did not once say that the xxx-nt was a bad truck and not get it, If you want it get it. There is no reason to tell me to Shut The fiddlesticks up for stating my opinion.

This guy wants to bash his truck and I thought the Rustler was stronger than the xxx-nt bashing wise. If you want to compete with R/C Trucks I think that the xxx-nt would be a better choice. To start barging in telling people to shut the fiddlesticks up will get you no where in life.

Thank you.

Ok Just had to chime in here. There is no need to act like that FOR ANY REASON. Everyone has a preference. Hawkbadass,, Mayhem is a very respected member here. But everyone's opinion counts. Make them respectable to read.

Back to the point, the Rustler is a very awsome ST. I love mine! There are so many option parts and they are even pretty strong out of the box! I have jumped mine huge with little to no breakage. I dont know who this hawkbadass guy is but I am backing up Mayhem all the way. Go rustler!

Thank you for all the responses! It sounds like the rustler might just be the truck for me! Now, some of you are saying that there are weak points. Is that the kind of part that is worth upgrading ahead of time and might save you money in the future or would you replace them as needed?

Thanks,
Drew

I'm not sure. If you do some jumping and such, maybe some aluminum shock towers and rear alum bulkhead would come in really handy! www.ssrcracing.com makes some killer parts for the Nitro rustler. They guy that makes those is a nice guy, and believe me, he tests his products before they go into production! Fuel filter is a must.

The rear shock tower was my first concern and I waited to get it. I use a light weight Carbon Fiber Front and Rear shock tower from RDRacingproducts.com you can check them out they make really nice products.

Drew I would like to see you stick around on the forums.

Well, i have decided to go head and buy the Rustler! Thank you all for the responses and keeping under control even though there was a flamer in the thread. I have a local track near me and i am thinking some Pro line Hole shots might do me well :D. And dont you worry Mayhem, ill be sticken around. I am sure i will need help many times! But do you recommend buy mulitple batteries for the Roto-Start 2? I have heard it can drain the battery quite fast and that would be a major bummer to lose a day of RC for a stinkin battery!

Thanks again,
Drew

Yeah, you should have at least 2 batteries. The starter doesn't eat up batteries if your car starts in a couple turns.

Two batteries is enough you will always have a charged one if your on the up and up

Well, I BOUGHT IT! HECK YEA!!! haha had to get that out. The battery has a 15 minute charger so i only bought one. Heres some pics of my beastly pimpin beast!

Well, I've broken it in and ran her.... Now all i need is some new tires and some new rims. Tires are bald, and i slid into the curb cracking the sidewall off of the rear tires!
