Nitro question

I have a smartech winner pro and I'm new to the nitro field. I got the engine dialed in on fuel air mixture and was trying to break in the motor but the one thing I notice was when I give the car gas the engine will rev up but the car doesn't go the fast. Could these be becuase the clutch spring is to tight. Please take in mind that this is a RTR car from the factory.

Are you breaking in the motor, or have you broken in the motor~? If you just breaking in the motor, then your HSN is too rich to really get the car moving at any speed. Your probably seeing lots of unburned fuel coming out of the exhaust, and maybe getting like 5 minutes on a tank. Your going to need to start leaning out the HSN, but make sure that you've gone through the proper break in. Take some time and read articles on breaking in motors and proper tuning, this will help you in the long run. A good place to start is www.parisracing.com. Good luck. Or something is binding. I have never heard of clutch springs being too tight, especially if it is made for that particular vehicle. Now if you are using a spring from another car/truck which is smaller than the one made for it, then maybe so. This is a new one to me, sorry I can't be anymore help.

When you rev up the engine, do you see the clutch bell spinning? Have you done any mods to the car anywhere? Give us a little more details to what it is exactly doing and someone might be able to pinpoint the problem better.

If it's RTR, chances are there is nothing wrong with the clutch. If you are still breaking it in, perhaps it's not fully broken in yet. Read the manual and follow the instructions. Once you have done braking it in, you can then fine tune the engine and "lean it out" you should then see a substantial increase in power.

Also make sure all the bolts and nuts are tight. (check the drive shafts)
