Unless you are inhaling the fumes excessively, I do not see how you got sick.
I would wash your hands if you get it on your hands. I like to keep a hand sanitizer with me when I do run. I have kids I take with me at times. So if I need to help them out, I just squeeze some on the hands.
There used to be a member here whose doctor told him that nitro was making him get bad seizures. He was already getting bad seizures before he got into nitro but supposedly the seizures were getting worse. I haven't heard from him in a while but because of what his doctor told him, he ultimately hung up his transmitter and quit the hobby.
No, but it does attract members of the same-sex! Jet was on me like a cheap suit when we raced last Saturday! Must've been the "Et de O'Donnells" I had on me! I had to keep him off me by zapping his hands with my pack charger, the friggin' weirdo!

Wow you learn something new everyday. I didn't know you could get poisoning from nitro fuel. I thought that if you drank it that my be a possibilty but never from just smeeling it for a little bit. Then again I have never tried that. No I have met Dom personally we usually hang out with a group of rcer's in the area on friday night's and run our vehicles. And I am in total denial :LoL: Well we hang out when he can get out and he's not working on his projects. But I keep telling him I don't want to go camping with him, I don't care how much rock crawling I can do in the mountains. :LoL:

LOL . . . to get back on track, the real danger of poisoning in nitro fuel is not the nitromethane, it's the methanol in the fuel. Nitromethane is indeed posonous but is well diluted in nitro fuel. Methanol, on the other hand, is about 60-70% of nitro fuel mix and can cause blindness, liver, or kidney damage if ingested. But even licking your hands won't poison you. haha . . .
