hello everbody, I'm still deciding weather to go with electric or nitro i just have a few questions. what is the general run time for a electric offroad rc that costs in 100-170 dollar range and how long is charge time?

Run time for an electric depends on the Milli-amp rating of the battery. The higher the Mah, the longer the run time. I would go with electric, I used to be all about nitro, but have slowly moved on to electric rigs.

depends on the person. me, personally, i have both. electric to blow nitros away and nitros because once tuned you can run all day without charging. also, electric gives the ability to put batteries in, get where you're going plug them in and go where a nitro you may have to tune slightly... for me, both is the way to go, i have 2 trucks, the nitro and electric version of the savage

What is the usual run time you get with some of your rigs and also charge time?

i charge low and slow, my rig I've only used 3s lipos... charge time can be over 5 hours with how i charge them but when theyre dead or on the charger i run the nitro. i get 30 mins plus with 2 3s lipos, speaking of which, time to hook them to the charger

I think i will probably go with nitro and later on try out an electric

I've never been a fan of electric until I ran a brushless/LiPo combo. Hour charge/30min run but I don't think you'll do that in your budget range. At least not buying new. They're fun but I still favor nitro myself.

with nitro be ready for a learning curve, but its not difficult. i run one of the most radical off the shelf electrics there is which is the savage flux hp. so my run times are probably shorter than what you can get and i can charge my batts faster i just choose not to. dont be scared either way, i run both for their advantages

if you are not into messin with engines tuning and all that stuff go electric but if you are like me that stuff is half the fun of the run... I have tmaxx and e-maxx and they both have there ups and both have there downs..... They are 2 different animals so take the time to choose... I have had a couple people buy nitro and realize they dont like tunning it at all and went to electric and people that went electric that didnt enjoy it as much as the nitro so they switched..... and then you got me as many as I want I will get eventually. good luck picking.

Theres advantages and disadvantages on both there both equaly enjoyable its really a matter of preference.I think 1/4 scale gas is the best IMO!Buy which you think you'll like best and go have fun with it.:whhooo:

i like nitro for the smell, there a little work to tune, but if you try youll learn. i dont have any thing against electric. electric will work better in the cold.

Unfortunately, gassers are really expensive. Lots of fun, though.
