Nitro in Reverse

Hi all, could anyone tell me if a for example 1/10 nitro buggy can be converted to have a reverse gear (go backwards) or are they all one way forward?

Every nitro buggy that I have seen is forward only. Buggies are intended for racing hence, no reverse. The only buggies with reverse that I know of are the electrics. So, the only way I can see to gain reverse is to convert it to electric power.
