Why don’t RC manufacturers build a nitro dragster with a 2 or 3 speed shift this would be so cool I know I would buy 2 or 3 gotta believe they would be big sellers.

They do have the cassic nitro dragsters.

As for the sct based drag cars, I would love nitro, but it seems to be going out. The only option thst I know of is a Nitro Slash conversion.

They also have 1/5th gas 2 stroke dragsters.

I'm active on a number of NPRC social media groups, and I see more nitro SC builds than I've ever seen. Some of the NPRC clubs have added nitro classes (though they really should follow the RCDRL and allow .21/less nitro compete directly with 2s). I also see that whenever someone posts a new nitro build, a bunch of people chime in and say they plan, or want to build one. This is in pretty stark contrast to 2019 when I was first building my SC drag car, there were barely any, and the attitude towards nitro was bad. There are definitely still some people out there who are vehemently anti-nitro for whatever reasons, but there's no question something has been shifting over the past year.

Heck, I recently joined the "NitroGang" group on FB, and was shocked to find that it was 1) By far the most active group I'd joined, including the very active "NoPrep Junkies" (where most everyone involved in NPRC posts, including big name racers - even Big Chief), and 2) Tons of people converting electric vehicles to nitro, lol.

The Slash is the only SC based nitro chassis, but it's widely supported, and there's tons of aftermarket parts. Extreme Racing makes a nice CF chassis for the Nitro Slash. I suppose one could convert a DR10 or Losi 22s to nitro, but with the Slash being available there's no point - these cars are all very similar in design.

As for nitro dragsters, I see a few here and there, I don't think that's hugely popular. I see people running them in some events, but the 1/5 scale gas dragsters are way more popular.

i designed a rwd 2 speed years ago now, when slash based drag bodies were starting to be popular, i shared with a friend of a friend and he made me trade it unfinished as i was months away from affording the pricey bits like wheels tires engine mod parts , electronics, and i hate trimming painting bodies, i suck at it. It was jaw dropping when finished, and proportions scale. Now with the dr10 and losi no prep are out, id like to make a nitro of using all same brand parts as possible. for example. a dr10 plus a t6 custom chassis with rc10gt2 nitro bits...

2 speed is 100% the way to go with nitro drag cars, as I'm finding out quickly. I'm in the process of finishing one up (Slash based). I'm seeing quite a few people making the change as well in their nitro drag builds. Already seeing rule changes because of it...

i used a over 20 yr old platform i had parts cars and a buggy front end. narrowed tubbed back half buggy front end hand ripped carbon chassis with carbon custom low wide towers, ofna ultra 2 speed, thing was the wheels n tires back when i designed were not out yet, hard to find tires i

rally truck front wheels from a nitro demon , mega force modded and both hand painted. 2.6 slicks and a proper fitting front skinny that mounted the same way didnt ever figure that out

wanted for 19mm wheels, makes me wanna build it and finish

Back in 2000, my partners, and I manufactured our own line of dragster ms. We first developed a 1/10 scale Top Fuel Dragster, followed by a Funny Car Dragster, then a Stock Car Dragster. The Top Fuel Dragster had a 3 speed Serpent transmission, the othe two had the same options if you want it. We had both Nitro, and electric. I race mainly nitro dragsters myself. One of my partners raced electric only. We also designed our own Top Fuel Dragster Bodies of which I still have about 300 of 4,000 Bodies left.
