NiCad or NiMH pak for receiver

[RC Rookie]

Is anyone using a NiCAD or NiMH pak in place of the AAx4 pak for the receiver?if so,what fits correctly?..looked at a couple but the cover didnt fit correctly......also,has anyone used anything OVER the recomended 6volts?...7.2?
PS...also having trouble with the included remote...it just stops working occasionally...probably 3 times total...a bit of 'jigglin' and removing and re-installing,NOT replacing, the AAs has 'fixed' the problem each time.....as I have been 'into' RC for abt a week,I have no idea...thanks...RC Rookie

Thanks...found one locally today...looks like the exact same item but cost abt $10 more.....not that bad considering no S&H etc....:>)
