Nice lid There RR! Wonder if the Jesseg has found an Impala lid yet to match his own Impala.

Well, all truth be told, I started with this hobby early last December '04, painted my first body in January and now I am up to 5 rigs, and have painted 8 bodies.

I like doing truck bodies, and least like doing buggy bodies. Road car bodies are fun, but more time consuming when it comes to the decalling. I have done 3 road car bodies and I have 2 more waiting to be done. I have 4 more bodies for trucks to do, most likely to fit on the Maxx. Tomorrow I start a Jeep CJ, metallic bronze with chrome painted details. I also have a Chevy Silverado body, Jeep Rubicon and a Willy's Coupe to do up.

For road car I have the new Ford GT, and a Camaro SS.

thats awesome i wish i was that good i need to get good and buy some supplies once i get the money but overall an awesome job man!!!!!

That is SWEET!!! Nice job man I want that body lol. Is that a brand new T-Maxx that thing is cleaner than mine and I just ran it through the dishwasher :) Jon I havent seen one like mine yet the only Impala I've come across is a 64 and mines a 59.

Jesse, the Maxx has seen a lot of dirt and grass but no mud, so it cleans real easy. I use the trick of spraying WD-40 on it when it is clean. Seems to shed dirt better when you spray the DA on it.

I love the look of the older truck bodies on a MT. Jesse, got a body for your rig? All I have ever seen is the nicely done chassis.

One thing I have learned and take the most time with is the taping/masking preparation. Make sure you have the mask/tape exactly where you want it and then press very firmly with the back of your finger nail on the edges. I go one step further and use a plastic bodied Q-Tip to put direct pressure in areas where I am not sure that I got it good with my nail, or even a toothpick. The other big thing I notced that makes a difference is using a Dremel to do your final trimming. It may take me 4-6 hours of Dremel work to get everything smooth, but it sure makes a huge difference. No wavy edges, especially in the wheelwells, no sharp edges, all clear areas smoothed back to clear on the cut edge, straight lines straight. There are many tricks to the Dremel and each person will have their own style, but proper speed control, if you have a Dremel with a speed controller, is really helpful.

My Maxx usally is always spotless to I clean it up after every run. Right now it just a bunch of pieces in a box lol. Broke the rear bulkhead and cracked and bent the chassis lol it might be pretty but its no shelf queen. I drive it like I stole it lmao. I still need to polish my wheels up since taking off the purple anodize. Here is a pic of what it looked like before I messed up the purple parts by putting them in the dishwasher lol! The paint job is actually on the exterior of the body it used to be a green original .15 maxx body. I used krylon fusion paint on it "made for plastic" worked great and hold up good then I airbrushed the rips in scarlet red and then it fades to purple pearl.

When I have some extra $$ I want to get a new body, might have to get the one you have hehe that is soooo sweet!

Revo rancher, does that jeep rubicon body fit the t-maxx? my daily driver is a patriot blue 03' rubicon, and that would be too cool if the t-maxx could match.

Either the Jeep Rubicon or the Jeep C-8 body will fit. C-8 is styled based upon the old Scrambler body.

My 1:1 Jeep is an '04 Sahara with factory options to include elec diff locks, 4 wheel discs without ABS (YEAH!!), factory Dana 44's each end. Almost a Rubicon! I mostly use it for towing behind my motorhome when we travel. It is 1 year and 2 months old, has 1300 driven miles, but about 6000 towed mies!
