hi guys, i just signed in, i live in monterrey mexico. The hobby is still in diapers over here so excuse me if i ever make some dumb questions. I've been around rc for a year now, anyways, my revo's fuel inlet at the carb has just been messed around and know i can't skrew the inlet tight enough and fuel leaks from here, what can i do, or should i just grab a new carb.??? thankz for your advice

First of all, Welcome to the one stop forum where you can find pretty much all ifyou just ask. I don't have a Revo but I am curious as to how the inlet nipple moved? Are you sure that fuel is leaking grom the nipple and not the actual line? Let's not replace the carb if you don't have to. Let us know as we all try to help!!

Welcome again

hmm sounds like your seal on the carb is bad. The rubber ring can go bad if to tight. I am guessing by what you typed so I may be off based on your problem description. I would call Traxxas @
1-888-TRAXXAS (1-888-872-9927)
If you are outside the U.S.,
call 972-265-8000

Man they are very helpful and with them being in Texas I am sure they have a spanish speaking tech if need be.

I would also try seeting the engine back to factory specs as stated in you manual. Good luck and let us know.

Well, i accidently screwed the inlet to tight, now there is no seal between the carb and the fuel inlet nipple.......

Honestly I would just buy the seal if I were you but if you can get em for free...hit em up!!! HB is a REVO man himself. Have fun around the site and let any of the mods know if you have a question or problem on the site. To further help you we have a SEARCH function that is very helpful.

Talk to you later

Jon

I have heard reports that if the screw is tightened too far it can crack the plastic composite carb and cause a leak or worse an air leak. Do you have any idle problems such as fluctuating idle RPM's?

let me ry to ilustrate things a bit..... traditionally you screw a bolt into a nut, and the outside of the bolt matches the inside of the nut so they make a tight bond, well in my case.... the inside of the carb where you screw the fuel inlet is completely flat, it no longer matches the fuel inlet's screwing design.................... is it clearer now?

Wait you are saying the threading is stripped? If that is the case than you will need to replace the carb.

got gas, that was the long way around to say you have a stripped thread, but yes, like jon2, look slike you have to get a new carb unless you are really good at thread making.

yeah well thats what i thought so.......i just didnt remember how to say that the thread was stripped lol, excuse my english...well i guess ill have to order it....would any carb for a .15 engine work?

You can get them off ebay relatively cheap.
