newbie needs help!

hi everybody.I'm looking for a first nitro car.the ntc3 rtr is my favourite so far.i was just wondering whether it would beat a protech niro fun in a straight line?i know it would beat it on the track.my mate has one and claims it can do 40 mph ?i dont think so as it is only a .12 size 2 wheel drive car!i know accelaration and handling is more important but it would be nice to wup his ass!thanx in advance.luke

the stock RTR NTC3 properly tuned will do somewhere between 35-45mph. with the addition of the two speed trany, 45-50 is possible.

:dancin: i should beat him then.he,s ony been driving for about a month so hes not very good anyway.whats the difference to drive compared to a quite high performance electric ?I've bin driving my hpi sprint with team orion core touring for about a year now.its geared for accelaration and is fantastic at the track,the only problem is its really unreliable.thanx,luke.:dancin:

depends on your setup. I've seen 12turn mod electrics hit the mid 30's at the track. fast, but no where near as fast as a nitro car. they handle better though. itd funny to see them look so slow on the track, yet TQ the day.

i think ill get the ntc3 rtr,2 speed trany upgrade,different body.i dont like the ones you get with the rtr!what shells are stable enough at top speed?is there a porsche boxster s?my dad has the real car!o,and maybe some blue anodized parts,which ones are best to start with?thanx!luke:fro:

luke - they dont make a boxster body that i know of. although they do make a 911 body. the most stable body out there is the stratus 2.1 by proline.

no real aluminium hop ups are needed. it is already a good car - however, check out www.racinghardcore.com for some cool goodies when u r ready

:bow: thanks for all your help nitro addict!my mates getting one now so we can bash at a huge parking lot nearby!i love the anodized blue parts they look fantastic!my birthdays coming up so ill have another 200$ to spend on hop-ups!I've also found a track nearby for onroad nitro cars!can you get a blue bulkhead?thanx so much for your help,luke:bow:
