i have the throttle adjusted where it idles at 1mm opening, but when i apply the brake it stalls. I can see the opening completely close when the brake is on, no matter how i adjust i can't get it to stay opened. Is there any secrets or tricks that could help me out.

Thanks

You will need to adjust the idle stop screw. This is usually a short small screw somewhere near the carb inlet. This is what keeps the idle open. You shouldn't have to keep the idle open using the trim on your radio.
It's a bit tough to say for sure because I don't know what engine you're tuning. So let us know what engine it is and what type of carb it has and we can be a bit more specific..

.15 HPI FE motor, i think you're right, i did a search of past post and from what i read the idle must be off,,,thanks for your help,,,,i will gladly accept all hints and suggestions

Cool. The .15FE is a very forgiving engine to tune. I am on my second RS4 and they are easy to dial in. Just look at the carb inlet and you'll see a small black screw. Just screw that in (clockwise) until there is still a 1mm opening when you pull full brakes. That should take care of you...

that was it , now she purrs like a kitten and no longer stalls while braking
