Aight guys I just got my 2.5 last week and am already having trouble. I fouled a plug trying to start it , and I had one more left. Well that got me through 4 tanks full perfectly, then I fouled it on the last tank. I bought 2 more plugs (traxxas HD long) I leaned the high side out 1/8 turn. Well then it would shut off when it hit 2nd gear, so I richened it 1/8. Then it fouled another plug. I fouled the last plug shortly after that. It seems the thing does all kinds of crazy things when ya start it.wide open for a sec , stalls ,dies. I read on here about the low side needle and how to set it and I noticed that it was out a whole turn. So I turned it flush with the inner ring. And turned my high side out 4 turns out . My other plugs should be here any day along with a temp gauge. So someone please tell me what to do when it gets here. Sorry for the long story. I'm just disgusted right now. My sons driving his electric all over the place and all I can do is watch. ugghh

Now that you have it with the HSN at 4 turns out, and the LSN flush with the inner ring, turn in the HSN 1/2 turn, and the LSN about 1/16th turn in. It should start and idle well. If it's still sluggish taking off, lean the LSN another 1/16th. Finish the break in and then get back here for final tweaking.

are u using fresh fuel. also u have your needles set to factory settings so that is good but also check your idle screw their should be a 1-1.5 mm gap when u look in the carb throat it is about the width of a credit card.
Also have u broken the engine in and what till your engine is up to temp before u shift in to secound. useing a temp gauge is the best way to tune and engine it should be no higher then 270 deg

Ill get back with everyone after I do this and give it a try

A temp gauge is not the 'sure thing' for engine tuning, but is a major safety factor when running in the summer.
In colder weather, trying to get it to normal running temps by leaning it to bring it up, will often require you to run so lean that you will burn it out. They actually have to be richened in cold weather just to make up for the denser air. That makes them run even cooler.
Temp is very important for break in though. If necessary, insulate the head with tin foil or the cuff from an infant's sock.
