Hello,
I just got an X 4.6 and was wondering what upgrades will I need right out the box. Do I need an extra fuel filter? or anything else? My savage is in the mail and will be here next week, so want to have everything ready for when it gets here. Any suggestions will be appreciate it!
 
A good rx pack, 6.0 Volt 5-cell hump pack. A good Nimh charger, a Dynamite Prophet will do the job fine. A 3000mah Nimh stick pack for the roto unit. No need for an extra fuel filter, the one in the tank does the job. Save up for some better radio gear and servos. The stock servos suck and don't last long. The stock AM radio is 30 year old technology.
The Futaba 3pm-mx is the best value out for a 2.4 ghz radio system imo.
 
hi, i have a savage x 4.6 and i've upgraded the motor, trans, and pipe, but i thought it was great right out of the box. the only thing i got tired of pretty quick was the roto-start. i went to a pull-start, i just prefer them was the reason. as far as my servos, i am still running the ones it came with, and as far as the radio, it works great for what i'm doing with it. my advice is just enjoy the thing cause that's what you bought it for. there will be plenty of time for upgrades later. just my opinion. awesome truck right out of the box. kdogg
