Has anyone experimented with new wheels and tires on the LST yet? I was real close to buying a set of 40 series rims and Big Joe's but I was not sure how they would fit and if it would change the top end speed at all being they are smaller in diameter over all? Anyone used these yet and what kind of results did you see, was it worth it? If you have not used the Big Joe's, what tires have you tried and how did they work out for you?

I have used bowtie 40 series on my savage, and they work real good for the track, but slow your top speed a little.

They will slow you down a bit, but if you get a clutch bell with more teeth you will compensate for the tiresize difference. The 40 series should help they are lighter and have almost no sidewall flex. It will make for a better handleing truck.

Does anyone have any suggestions for rims to use? I was thinking I would like to try the Zombie tires from Losi but not sure what rims to go with in this case - maybe some kind of beadlocks?

My buddy has the exact setup you're looking to buy (40 Series & Big Joe) on his LST. Unfortunately, he stripped the plastic on the inside on two of the rims.

I use the HPI Dirt Bonz tires with Q6 wheels. They work awsome on the track. The stock tires on the LST are awfull on the track. Its true it does slow the truck down a little. A bigger clutch bell would be good. The Lst lights all all four tires constantly when using smaller tires. It will even light up the tires slightly when the truck is in motion. Again I run the lst on the dirt track when ever I use the Dirt Bonz tires. The Dirt Bonz tires will wear out fast on pavement.

I am glad I did not pull the trigger on any tires yet. I think I am going with the new 23mm hexes and the new Weld style wheels for them and wrap those with the new MOAB tire, that sounds like a nice bashing setup to me.

Just order threaded shock bodies, CF main deck, new springs and the new larger tank, tack on some other goodies as well like alum cases and we have a little wrench work waiting for us this weekend.
