Hey guys and gals,

Pretty sure this is the right place for this cross my fingers any ways. I am looking at a slightly used Traxxas 3.3 and I am wondering if it is a decent deal. I really want to get into this hobby but would like to spend a little bit to get in to save room for upgrades as well as still having some money to have fun with it. I found this truck on our craigslist and need a little advice.

thanks

If I'm reading it right he has a brand new in box engine along with the one on it with 7 gallons thru it. If this is true then its a good deal and the truck looks to be in really good shape. Go for it! But make sure he includes the new engine in deal or you will be spending another $110 on one yourself. If you get it read the manual and follow the breakin instructions thoroughly. The tmaxx is an excellent rig to start out with and learn the hobby. Good find my friend.

While not a horrible deal I would suggest a completely new rig if you are looking to jump into the hobby. You can buy a new 3.3 Tmaxx with a 2.4 radio for aroun $400 NEW!! While this rig has a "new" 3.3 (says 7 tanks but how do you really know?) you dont know how much fuel the rest of the chassis has seen. Has the truck been thru 2,3,4 gallons? For any noob I always suggest a new rig. Less headaches and if you have headaches you cause them an not some guy you dont know that beat the hell out of the rig you bought

This is true. Being new to nitro i would buy a new rig. You could chance buying someone elses headache if not. I paid $200 for my first nitro tmaxx and it turned out to be a friggin nightmare. But i learned all about it rebuilt it modified then upgraded it and total cost ended up being exactly what a brand new one would have cost me. Only difference being for $500 mine came with tons of experience and knowledge about tmaxx trucks. I'm happy with it. Considering i gave it to my father and got myself a Revo. Next comes the losi 8

Theres quite a few of us who 1/2 the hobby is turning a wrench on a rig and finding these trucks that a guy completely fubarred up for $50-$100 and retuning to have a $300 rig. Its a blast. My biggest point was a noob may get overwelmed with the used rig and turned off to the hobby by starting out with headches. Myself I can't remember the last time I bought a brand new rig as I enjoy the cheap side of the hobby! :)
