Picked up a set of Proline Moabs at my local hobby shop. I wanted big joes but no one had them, so what the heck.

Well, I'm pretty happy with these ones for the deep snow. The extra ground clearance and tread design seems to plow right through the snow! I also built a small skate park area and dumped water on the snow. Froze right up in our 5 degree temps this morning..
:hehe:

can you get it to pop wheelies ??

took my revo out today to test my old engine ...and i was surprised to see it lift the front end on hard snow and ice .....but i do have modified tires that dont balloon and they have screws sticking out :D....you should try that if you have an old set of tires

I couldnt get a proper wheelie going but it would pull one tire at a time real easy. I am going to strip the tires and tape them so they dont balloon so bad, it turns out I glued them like crap anyway..

I have like three sets of old tires I could put screws in. Did you dismount them and screw from the inside? got any pics?

yes ..i took the stock revo tires and dismounted them ....flipped them inside out and scuffed them with a stiff wire brush to help the glue stick ...flip them back.....then i glued on a strip of denim fabric ( took some old jeans ) with shoe goo ....

to put the screws in, i used a drill with a small bit and drilled small holes from the outside in the pattern that i wanted ...doing a couple at a time ..( drill few holes ..put screws ...and so on ) ....by drilling hole from the outside , it makes it easy to know where the screw goes on the inside ...i used fabric because i didnt think tape would be strong enough with the added weight of the screws ( those things do spin pretty fast).....jeans , shoe-goo and screws ...i dont think it will let go any time soon :D

also strongly suggest you balance your wheels/tires when all is done ;) ..

this is what i ended up with ....if i was to redo it , i would put twice as much screws ;)

no prob ;) ....i like them ...and i dont regret doing them :D ....i used self taping screws for steel ...the tip is much harder than normal screws ..but they will use if you make it spin on pavement ..lol i have some that are worn down ...i never tried them at night ...I'm sure sparks would fly :D:hehe:

snow, studs, nitro, fun fun

I have some studded tires too, went out the other day once i noticed the snow froze took out the maxx, have pictures with the tires in them under the maxx pictures forum page 14 nedly nitro, they worked really good, will have video's here soon located in Maine so we got snow bankens! :)

Very nice. I might have to try this method from the outside. I tried boiling my old tires to dismount them and couldnt get it done. that glue is on there really good!

i had a bit of a hard time with my tires to ...had a couple i had to boil a couple times ...but i got them off .....you just wont get as much of a bite by putting them the other way ...but it should help with traction thats for sure :D
