I am buying a traxxas Sport Maxx and i am worried about things breaking and i would like to know what will be the first things to break so i can get and idea of what brand of things to buy and I WANT DURABLE STUFF. So i dont have to worry about things breaking in the future and i would really appreciate some feed back on what would be the best things to buy and where i can get them. Plus which will be the most critical items. Thanks a lot.

RPM Products seem to be the most popular here for the T-Maxx and Sport Maxx. The Sportmaxx will basically fit everything made for the T-Maxx. RPM products are very durable and lightweight, probably even more durable than aluminum. The first things that I would upgrade would be the A-Arms (Upper and Lower) and the Bulkhead and Bulkhead Braces. THen the chassis braces then I would get some strong Shock Towers, but those are just IMO so go with what you like. But trust me-RPM is the best!

bulkheads!!!!!!!!

Rpm doesn't make bulkheads what brand should i get, i can get the bulkhead braces from rpm though.

Sportmaxx's are the best, i have had one for about 3 weeks and they rule, soooo powerful and you can upgrade at any time to a tmaxx spec. The best buy i'v made yet. :worship: SPROTMAXX :worship:

First off don't be worried about breaking stuff, you ARE going to break stuff, thats just part of the fun. Bash it, break it, fix it, bash it, break it again.

As Silent mentioned rpm makes some great products that are very durable, and RPM products carry a lifetime warranty, if you break it send it back to them and they will replace it free. But they do not make bulkheads, for bulks the only upgrade would be to aluminum which can get costly, so you might want to wait until you bust one before shelling out the money for them. The rpm a arms are very nice, as are the shock towers, bumpers, rims, skids, bulkhead braces, and now they even make axle carriers. All of which are guaranteed forever!

Make sure you install a fuel filter right away, and possibly a better air filter, but the fuel filter is a must!. Both of these items will prolong the life of your engine.

Other than that as you break stuff replace it with better stuff. Good luck with your new truck.

NC Nitro mentiond two good first things to do. But I think you should also get a Fail-Safe as soon as you can. Dynamite makes one for cheap, so does venom. Nothing worse than a Runaway breaking your truck-rather than a 20' jump breaking your truck.
Now Go out there and demolish some T-Maxxes. I wanna know how much better the Sport Handles compared to the T-Maxx.

bfourm3, I did some research and If your going to race the Sportmaxx, i have a good idea for you!

A brand called IMEX, known for their tires-make ribbed front tires for the sportmaxx. Those would really help the lap times decrease. The tires are called Rib Dawgs. Also, the Jumbomaxx tires made by them are bad-ass.

Thanks NC, I'm glad I'm really appreciated around here. I was about to go to the TRX fourms.
Joking!:ha:

not trying to slam RPM products but I really dont like the soft shock towers. They flex way too much and don't let the suspension actuate correctly. I get what they were thinking on this, if their flexible they won't break as much but with regards to the shock towers and good handling they don't fit the bill.

ditto on the rpm towers....i've got them and they FLEX! they flex so much... i landed top-side down on a jump and they flexed so much they dented in my header.... Trinity sells a replacement for $69.99 LMAO haha yeah right

While not bashing you, well really I am but anyway, I happen to like the shock towers because they bend and return to almost normal shape on their own rather than aluminum which has a tendency to retain whatever shape they are forced into.

true about the longetivity of the shocktowers I will give it that. Looks like you like them for the durability factor where as I would cash a couple of sets off to the game every once and awhile if my suspension actuated better. I am a real retard about my suspension on my off-roads call it anal.:buggy1: And thats not bashing! Come on what do you think this is Traxxas? (you know I had too!!!:alarm: )

Sky and I really enjoy flying our trucks, without the wings and the alum towers, at least in my case seem to bend too much and never can be straightened again.

Depends on whose aluminum you use. I run Hardcore Racing towers and they have never bent or disfigured through all of the pain I have heaped on them.
