I bought a used .25 Sav from the consignment section of the local hobby shop. It came with a handful of extras (radio, chargers and aluminum hop-ups). The truck had a fairly new pull start Ofna Picco .26 that had come loose and stripped the spur gear. I got it for $125
It took a while to get a spur gear for it, neither local store I visited had one so I got a 52 tooth online to go with the 14 tooth clutch bell.
The truck absolutely blew me away! I idled a couple of tanks - Mostly because the engine still had lots of pinch at TDC - and went through basic break in, despite the engine heat sink showing a little rash from the previous owner. This thing wheelies itself over backwards constantly and tears dirt out of the grass taking off - all with a nice solid trail of blue smoke.
Compared to my 2.5 T-Maxx, this thing is a beast of a machine.
I wish the steering wasn't so 'mushy' though. The saver screw is tight, but it takes a much bigger area to turn a circle than the Maxx and the wheels don't 'want' to turn as much. Small price to pay.
The T-Maxx is now the wife's toy. I have a new favorite!!!!
