Just got my Savage. Have a couple of ????

All I have is Traxxas fuel. Anyone had any trouble with it? Will it hurt to change fuel brands after breaking it in on that.

My local??? hobby shop (hour drive) is going to start carrying Trinity. Runs great in my buggy. Anyone using this?

Also any tips on keeping the wheels from stripping out besides just keeping them tight?

Can't afford any hop-ups for a while. (bought 4 cars in about 5 months) :devious:

Thanks for any help.

It is a good idea to stick with the same type of fuel through the life of the engine. However that is not always going to be the case. You might notice some minor difference going between brands which will cause you to make needle adjustments. But it won't hurt the engine.

For the stripping wheels get rid of the Savage rims and get anything else. :-p I am still running the stock rims and I have had no problems yet. Of course I also check my nuts to make sure they are tight about every other tank of fuel.

Thanks mcvikj. I'll keep the wheels tight, maybe I won't any problems.

Anyone using the Traxxas or the Trinity fuels.

That receiver box is a dog to get in, isn't it? What do you do with all that antenna wire??? Run it down the side of the frame and zip-tie it?

On every one of the stock wheels that I've stripped the nuts were tight so they're not the issue. Weak plastic around the wheel center is to blame and I replaced mine with proline weld's however I kept the stock tires because they are good. I also replaced my improved, can you really call them that?, wheel hexes with gpm hexes that don't move around the wheel as much further reducing the chances of them stripping. For now I'd recommend using blue loctite on the wheel nuts to keep them from backing out. I'd also recommend doing the 4 spider mod to your diffs to insure long life out of the diff cups.

I ran trinity in all my rigs but my traxxas .15 I put it in the savage and it didn't run quite so well.

What I did to solve the proble is buy a hot plug. It runs like a champ now with no extra tunning.

Just use that fuel for break in, and when you go to lean it out for performance ge a hot plug to help burn the oil.

When you switch back to trinity be sure to go back to a medium plug.

trinity 12% oil -- med/cold plug (in a big block)
traxxas 16% oil -- Hot plug (in a big block)

I tighten the heck out of my wheels fater every few tanks no problems yet.. with the stockers.

What kind of plug comes in it??

Ran a tank and a half in it yesterday and lost the one-way bearing on the engine. No place open today:dumb:

Bashed the X-cell and X-term today.:D Had a blast. Have to fix both of them. X-term was ok until the kid ran into the guardrail we were jumping=devil .

Had somebody tell me they had problems with the slipper clutch, anyone else?
Thanks.

What happened to the X-C man I loved mine until i stared robbing parts lol..

lykan Dude the only thing that broke was a shock end. $3 part. He was jumping with it too:LoL: . That is a damn good truck for the money. Bought it for the 18yr old kid, but he has to keep it going. I won't even drive it.

Actually didn't do anything to the X-term. 2 bolts fell out on the steering hubs. Ripped off the bumper. Something on the front seems to be bent, but I haven't found out what. It was a hell of a hit:D

Never was interested in cars until this year. Was always rc planes. Wife wanted a car. Someting all three of us can do. Haven't touched a plane this year. We are having a blast.
