New Savage X, already a headache

thats why i love my reverse! i don't always have time to drive somewhere to run, or to simply test out a mod or upgrade, and reverse really helps out when you have to drive your savage in the ally, and you dont have the room to initiate a powerslide turnaround!

I'll toss this out; I finally got my 3 speed shifting correctly; base settings on the adjustments for a stock X are: 1.5 turns from flush on the 1-2 shift, 3.5 turns on the 2-3 shift. To adjust the 1-2 shift, you have to disassemble the 3 speed setup a little.

i did the 3 speed conversion kit on my 21, and i have pretty much found that if my motor is tuned in right, where its getting enough revs, it has no problem shifting

Ya well i've decided to put money away for the reverse module, mixer and 3rd servo and probably the 3 speed tranny...You guys convinced me...thanks !!!

Well I finally got the servo in the mail. Attaching the horn to the servo didn't go correctly or something. When I turn on the radio, it makes all kinds of clicking noises. Manual said to attach it at a 45 degree angel, but I don't know if that meant I should manually crank it all the way clockwise and then set the lil horn thing at a 45 degree angel, or if it should be left at 12:00 and then just put the horn on at 45 degrees. I cranked it, and it sounds wrong, so now I have to reset it.

Other issues - while engine is not started (because I have yet to start it):
1. When I rotate the right, front tire, the left, front tire moves in the opposite direction. Is this correct?
2. When I rotate the front tires, the rear tires don't move, and vice versa. Is this correct?
3. When I try to turn both front tires in the same direction, there is a lot of resistance. Manually moving the brake arm removes the resistance, but why is it there? I know I must have set something up wrong, but I don't know what I did.

I feel like I've royally f****ed my truck up. I shouldn't have decided to do the mods before ever running the truck. Big mistake. Live and learn. I am just hoping I didn't screw things up too bad. :depress:

EDIT: I am going to cheack my gear mesh, I think it's too tight. And I'm going to turn on the radio, let the servo get in its position, and the reconnection the horn.

Make sure the trim adjustment on your radio is centered before you put the servo horn on....good luck!

i say get rid of your laziness and save yourself the trouble with reverse, like someone said to me''reverse is for sissies stick with foward only, and it can't be that far to get your truck you have certain distance anyways you can go

I do not deal with reverse also. I only have one electric that has reverse and I hardly ever drive the mini lst.

thats the problem with large hobby places like tower they don't have people that answer the phones that know about the parts you are buying except for what the computer screen tells them. if you had talk to a person who knew more and had expierence in the hobby they probably would have told you about the servo.
