I have only ran the truck 3 times, did all the steps of proper break in. my problem is the roto start just spinning and not turning over the engine. now before everyone jumps on me about searching the forums and cleaning the one way bearing.....i already did that. my question is, when i turn the shaft (by hand) without the one way bearing on there it just makes a click sound at every rotation and never catches or moves the piston. Is this right? does it need the speed of the rotostart to catch, or is it supposed to be moving the piston right away? Thanks for the help in advance!!!!

If you spin the shaft by hand and the piston does not move, the connecting rod has either broken or somehow fallen off the pin on the crankshaft.

Open up the backplate, what do you see?

I'm not sure if you can put the bearing in backwards on that engine, but the click might be the ratcheting pin clicking past the hole, instead of locking in. Did you remember the pin and the spring?
What happens when you turn the flywheel by hand?

i fixed it, well atleast for now, i took the plate off and found that it was spinning past the notch, the pin was basically flush with the rod, so i pulled the pin and spring out and the spring was all the way compressed, i stretched it out a little and now it holds the pin out. i wander why this happened when it is so new? I'm sure i'll be replacing the spring and pin before i know it.

thanks for all your help guys.
