Only had my savage for a week or so... It's a 25 rtr

When I stop the car, (by covering the exhaust) it let's out a hiss from somewhere. Is this normal for the savage or do I need to look out for something?

Hello simonrc. You may want to read about sealing the engine https://www.rcnitrotalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=87194&highlight=Engine+sealing
I was also wondering if you are using a chrome pipe exhaust on your savage? It might be the oil from the engine going to your chrome pipe brought about by high temps. Or is the sound more like a metal hissing noise? If it is, you might want to check the clutch bell bearing. How's the performance of the engine? Is it responsive or sluggish? Try to look for gas splatters around the engine or the cooling head. Or it may just be a simple case of the glow plug not tight enough. I hope any of these help. :)

I did think the noise could of come from the glow plug but it is tight.

I haven't sealed this engine yet but I will.

Thanks for your help.

Probably at the manifold. It's not a bolt on but is held tight with a spring. Shouldn't be a problem unless you have trouble getting a good tune.
