Hello everyone, my name is Scotty and i live in Panama City, Florida

My Question is I got my Revo 3.3 last christmas new. I ran it all year with about 8 gallons through it. One day I was running it and jumped it and landed really hard and it died and would not crank back up. So I pulled the motor apart and found out I cracked the piston in half. So my question is my wife told me she would buy me an engine for christmas so what are some suggestions for a replacement. It is used for bashing and i want something with some power, because I want to be able to do wheelies with it. So please help me out with your suggestions. Thank you in advance.

Eight gallons is a lot of use out of a mill. You must run it quite a bit. If it were me I would take advantage of Traxxas' Engine Replacement program. You trade your mill in for a new one at a big discount. But, that is just me. I am sure you will get a number of ideas from the Revo crowd. Good luck and welcome to RCNT!

My advice is to stay with a small block in the Revo. It was never intended to have a BB in it and will tear your diffs apart. The traxxas engines are good engines and if you liked the 3.3 get another one. Properly tuned they will wheelie like no tomorrow. Now, if you wanted to really boost up the power, look online for a OS 18TM. Probably not a better engine out there. I'm sure you will get lots of different opinions but thats my $.02.

hey i just got on towerhobbies.com and they said that engine is discountinued.

thank you everyone for your suggestions keep them coming.

just cause its discontinued doesn't mean you can't still get one. but they do have the newer OS.21-TM engine that Towerhobbies.com sells, it costs almost as much as a revo but it will def pull wheelies all day and last a good long time if you take care of it.

i would stick with the 3.3 it's a strong engine and they run for a long time. Also thats what the revo is made for so you wont have to keep fixing your drivetrain..

Traxxas 3.3 (3.3cc)(.20) -exchange = $120.00 *stock engine bearings are junk, design maxed out with reliability may be a question.! low cost, good power,disposable/trade in good deal

OS .21TM (3.4 cc) with revo manifold = $240.00 - $300.00 *over priced !good power,OS reputation

Picco .26Max (4.27cc) (original & JL Red Dot ) $200.00 -$240.00 Need to
purchase mount $25.00) * limited gearing selection with Picco mount, carb quality ? ! Most bang for the buck with JL version even better I would assume.

RB TM523 (.23ci or 3.7 cc) with manifold ,pipe and mount $309.00 (now $239.00 on sale @ Amain) Just ordered it ,I like the bearings are larger and the rod is bushed at both ends.We will see?

Os V spec .21 Traxxas BB kit $300.00 -$350.00 need to purchase pipe $50.00-$100.00)* highest cost ! Most powerful, most reliable, easiest to tune

I have them all put the V Spec or V spec speed & Picco Red Dot version now and I could have just dropped in the Vspec and called it done.Damm Revos

Side note Traxxas and OS have shown me fantastic customer service.I have not contacted Picco yet but the bearings and piston are done so I may give it a try.If you buy from your LHS what they stock they should help back you up with service if you have any problems.

the OS v spec is a good motor
but it depends on if you are willing to spend that much on a motor
