ok so i took the maxx out today and I ran it for about 2 tanks...the problems i am having now is that after it warms up it starts going real slow, like full throttle going 5 mph. Is this a clutch problem or what? and the total speed of the thing is only about 20mph with the sirio, it seems like the engine is goind at full power but it isnt transfering it to the tires. Is this a tuning problem or also a clutch problem? And I'm seeing little air bubbles in the fuel line.

well, good things I have going for me is that it starts real fast and stays running for the whole tank, my new shocks which didnt seem to dampen to well worked great the maxx was very stable, but not very fast.

You guys know I'm kinda new to this stuff so be patient with me. Thanks for all your help and I'm sure we can get this SOB runnin like a gem.
:coffee:

Did you install the sirio?
Did you install the clutch?
Did you install the clutch springs corectly?
what does the car do when you hold it off the ground and give it throttle? same thing or do all tires spin?
This could very well be a clutch problem! this has happend to me b4 , since the clutch is engaging a little, it may be something as simple as a clutch spring, or the clutch springs may not have been on well enough when you put the bell on, I would take the clutch off, If the whole inside falls apart when you slip the bell off you will know right away that was the problem! If the springs are ok(not streched or bent)put them back on and make sure you can feel the tension of the shoes before you put the bell back on! good luck!

also check your slipper clutch..if the engine seems like its revving up and sounds healthy, its most likely a driveline problem, after a few times of full throttle touch the clutch bell (careful do at own risk it may be very hot, plus spinning parts hazard) if its hot then your slipping there...to check your slipper put the truck up agianst sumthing immovable and give it sum gas..if the slipper slips way before the tires are even trying to spin out then your slipper is loose/worn. to set slipper i usualy tighten till its locked, then back about a 1/4 - 1/3 turn.

Do you have a temp gun?

If you do you better get it out and check the temp of that engine.

You may think the engine is giving it its all, but I don't think it is.

If you are getting bubbles in your lines it is because it is vapor locking, your engine is getting so hot that it is vaporizing the fuel in the carb causing the air bubbles.

The reasong it is not wanting to move is because you have exceeded the temps of the engine and no longer have a pinch, with no pinch, no power. This also causes blow by and you will have a pressurized case and add to the bubbles.

My 2 cents

Richen it up ALOT!

Deff, check Temps. and the stock clutch.and slipper.

Did you break that new motor in right?
