at idle should my t-maxx roll forward slightly? well it does and my brake is hard toi engage is this a slipper clutch problem do i have to loosen the nut on the tranny wheel?

Slightly popping forward is fine. You can back that down with the idle. or, richen the LSN a hair. Literally, a hair.

If the brake is hard to engage, well, that sounds like either linkage or someone in need of doing a brake mod. Sky has a good brake mod posted around here somewhere......

I'll second the backing the idle down a hair. The hopping forward with no throttle input is either a trim setting on your radio being just past neutral or the idle set screw set too high.

As for the brakes, I think Christian might have me confused with someone else. I have modified my brakes, but not in any special way.

Odds are the two issues are related (throttle trim being bumped up accounts for the creeping forward and also accounts for the limited pressure on the brakes when you apply the brakes). Make sure the throttle trim is set to neutral on your radio. If it is, and the brakes are still hard to engage, then you have to adjust the brake linkage a little.

Let me know what you find, and I'll try and help out.

I thought it was you that did the pen spring mod?!?!

I'm about to do a double disc brake setup on mine. Which is now going to be an all show ride for now. No way I can break it in any time soon.

Nope...the pen spring mod actually makes it a little harder to engage the brakes, but it does wonders for releasing them.

Yeah - no - see - right - ok. wasn't you......

I put the springs between the tranny case and the rear pad itself. Creates a cooter hair drag brake, but, keeps everything just taunt enough. I also went down 2 mm on the screws when I ran that mod. I wanted the brake about 1mm closer to the tranny and it made a HUGE difference.

i have the forward only gearing and it does not jerk just slowly creeps forward.

Did you check the things we mentioned above?

yup i think i can set the idle even lower ill try tomorrow...i live in a apartment.

one more question when your throttle is neutral onthe controller isthe brake engaged? mine is

It shouldn't be, but some people like to use what is called drag braking. This is where at the neutral throttle setting, they have just a little bit of brake applied. Real world, neutral means just that...no throttle and no brake.

ok i have it lookin good neutral is neutral and the brake works.

thanks for the info...i'll test tomorrow:hammer:

if i get the forward only conversion, will i still have 2 gears???
