hi peeps, just thought id show ya my new Illuminated Blue off/on Switch Mod, looks so bright when its on. much, much better than stock switch. easier to get to aswell. give us some feedback.

do they come in green? link please. i have a habit of leaving the switch on.
 
That is a great idea!!! How does your RX pack deal with the extra load? Or does it have a separate power source?
 
thats a great idea! I leave mine on all teh damn time... if thats an led in there it shouldnt draw but a little bit of power. no big concern. judging by how bright it is it looks like an led... well i have to make a trip to radio shack now.. thanks for the tiP!
 
i believe those led lights only need about 3-4 volts of pwer to run them. i'd like to get a green one myself. i believe some need a resistor as well, but not sure of the one he has. i have a novak xxtra which has 5 open slots I'm only using 2 for throttle and steering so i have 3 open slots.

i geuss you just run a rx wire hot and ground led like the battery has and plug it in the rx. when you turn it on everything powers up including the light.

i'd like to see the under side and wiring.

rat shack has those in different colors?
they sell those at rat shack?

some say 2.8v max. will i need to get a resistor seeing how I'm running 6v hump pack?
 
THere are switches that are illuminated. I think that is the route I want to go.

Hi all

here is a quick pic for the wiring of the switch

Resistor value will depend mostly on ur battery voltage and the switch it's self

i used a 150Ohm resistor for G units

Very cool looking mod.. BUT.. the room in the receiver box is already tight. Is room an issue? How much of that push button is protruding on the inside? I'm sure alot of members would love to see the inside.
 
i will take some pics of the inside for ya :smoke: all i done was cut the tray the reciever lays on, give me ten minutes and i will get some pics up people

hope this helps people out, will get some better ones if needed, just feeing a little ill at the mo.
I'm not running the reverse so have no servo there so the wire just slot nicely in. if ya are running the reverse, you will prob have to mount the reciever somewhere else without the tray there

what are the specs of the resistors in ohms and watts? i belive to use resistors for a 6v current is 470ohms at 1/4 watt. not totally sure. can you find out from your friend how did this for you?

470Ohm 1/4w you will be plenty safe anuth with

the Resistor depends mainly on the LED rating in the switch so every switch that people would buy could need a differnt resistor

i went to rat shack and they have a uv 5mm light that is regulated at 5 v. i soldered it together and plugged it in works fine and bright. it isnt the switch but i will now know if i leave the power switch on. it looks like a fish eye. I'm gonna get another one for the other side. it looks the the truck has eyes. i even gave the light a eyebrow with a black sharpie.
