My nephew blew up his stock savage motor (finally) I want to surprize him with a new mill, leaning towards an os because thats all I use I'm my road cars,, what would you suggest? he is pretty hard on his mt's so I would be looking for the biggest/most powerful/reliable on the market, Thanks!

The Hyper 8 port is a great mill once you get it broken in.

The Picco .26 is also a great mill once you get it tuned.

Either of which are very powerful and will definately harness enough energy to debate whether or not it was toooo much. Depending how young he is, you will have to work with him on either break-in or tuning. I'm not certain what the 'drop-in' replacement is by O.S. on the Savage, but I could guarentee it would be a dream to tune and break-in.

Good luck!

true that! He is 30 and really knows his poop about the hobby, alot more than me! He got me started back into rc ,he recently did a major hop up to his mill and it ran fine but was chewing up spur gears like candy, it finally couldnt take the abuse anymore and blew, his gs storm is also blown, he wants to come up here and bash this weekend so I am going to trick him into bringing his savage with him and I want to surprize him with a decent mill, I figured an OS21 would be a good choice but I am not that familiar with 21 mills. I run an os15cv-rx in my tc3 and its the most ez and reliable mill I have ever had, but I am way open to suggestions,I have three lhs that carry a good variety so I just want to know whats best, keep in mind that these stores are better at selling than knowledge, so thats why I'm here! Thanks!

A guy a the local track has a Picco .26 in his Savage, and absolutely flies. He's an experienced racer, and has his Savage set up for such. He was running against some Hyper 8 ports, but the 8port drivers weren't on his level. Hard to say if they were reversed. Don't know anything about the motor other than that. I agree with you on the OS. They don't come anymore reliable and easier to tune. Just don't know which one would be good in a MT.

hey look at the XTM 24.7. i got that mill and it works good, i love it. i have put the crazy nut head on it and it works like a charm. it holds its tune really good and it is easy too tune.

Don't forget about the orion wasp, same as the ofna both are the picco .26 mills. a lot of power for a very reasonable price.
