What mill should i put in my savage .25. Mainly for bashing.pipe?

thanx

Ofna/Picco or Wasp .26. Great engine for a great price. It'll have plenty of power for you to have more than enough fun with. IMO it's one of the best bang/buck engines out there.

For the pipe, I'd try eith an Ofna 063 if you're more into off roading or the 086 if you want a little more top speed.

yea go with the picco/wasp .26 engine, if you got $$$ go with the ths pipe, i got the picco and the ths pipe and man i can't control it! :smoke:

I just got the XTM 24.7 pro and the THS pipe and it is an awesome combo!! I can't keep the front wheels on the ground. It's a little cheaper than the Wasp/Picco too but the power is great!

if it i had a savage i whould put the rbc5 in it thats just my 2 cents

Hmmmm the ofna picco 26, wasp all that are always a great engine, the XTM I hear nothing but good about it. I would consider and take a look at the Fantom FR27 Supposed to have some ungodly power and make everything scream. I'd take a look at that before I got a damn sirio 27 or the new RB 28 coming out. The FR27 is about $100 to $150 cheeper. I got the picco and it has great power but honestly I want the FR27 for some stupid reason.

Is the C5 a pullstart??? Anything you put in the savage either needs to be pullstart or rotostart compatible. Starter box will not reach it.

There was a link over at Savage-central to a guy who does pullstart mods for the RB engines. If I remember right he uses an 8port crank and pullstart assembly and modifies them for use on the RB engines. The new RB28 is going to be pullstart I think but I would get the Fantom over the RB just because of my experience with Fantom engines and the price of the RB engines.I'm really loving the power of this 24.7pro though. For the money I think it's a tough engine to beat!

i havent gotten my savage yet but my bash buddy changed his stock motor in his savge. He said it was much better without the stock motor. He went with the wasp.I liked much more than my maxx.

Hmmmm are you getting a new savage 25 not a savage 21?? I can't imagine there to be a night and day difference honestly. Hopefully you will hold on to your 25 motor for a backup thourgh.

so your saying theres no difference between the two truck?:wtf:

There are very few minor differences:
1. .25 vs .21 engine
2. Tuned pipe vs composite pipe
3. Fuel tank is primerless

A few other little modifications to fix issues that the Savage .21 had, but the truck is essentially the same.

what I'm hearing is i should go with the .21 because I'm dropping in a new mill neyways? (and buy a new pipe)

That depends on the new mill you plan on buying. The .25 is a pretty decent stock engine. You might not find much difference between it and a .26 engine.

As for the structure of the truck, the .25, SS, and .21 have a ton in common.

If you can get a Savage .21 for a decent price, and spend the money you save by buying said .21 on an upgraded engine and pipe...that might be a good way to go.

Something like that but how much are you willing to spend on this new mill? I mean you can get a cheap engine for $100 or you could go as high as $400 for an engine.

I'm looking high mid 200s. But am willing to spend more.

between the .25 and .21 are there any chasis diffrences?

Also what are the biggest problems you have had with the truck(which model)?

if you put a picco .26 in a savage 25rtr would there be any real noticable difference between the two?

Check out the Fantom FR27. Its around $200.

There is no chassis difference between the Savage .21 and .25.

No differences...and the biggest problem is that it is so darn hard to break. :D

I just replaced my s25 with a mach 26 and there is a difference between them in performance. I would start out using the s25 and get used to the truck before I dropped something more powerful in there. Also make sure that you do the 4 spider mod before you run it at all and make sure there isn't any play in you 43t ring gear/output shafts or you'll be tearing up your 13t pinions in no time.
