As soon as my things sell in the for sell forum(check it out) i will be purchesing a monster gt. I know someone already posted something like this but he did not specifify his use. I'm want to build a purpose built race truck from the ground up. What do you recomend i buy?

Ps its a short track, bout five jumps and a small straight.

I have mine built for racing and it's been kickin butt all season,I have the only MGT that races there and right now I lead the track's MT points series.I have a 6V hump pack,a GH cooling head,RPM arms,17T pinion/52T spur gearing, and proline bowties.over the next week I'll be upgrading my steering using a hitec 645mg.if you plan on using the stock radio system do the channel 4 mod on the reciever.the track I run has some long straights,so for you the stock gearing might work out ok.

I've been using stock oil (40wt),but I have had to switch to red springs so that I could handle a big jump at the track without bottoming out.the suspension on this truck is pretty soft with the blue springs but it soaks up all the bumps and ruts like they're not even there, plus it helps the truck corner better without traction rolling.

If it's a short track, you might want to consider a gear change.
The stock set up is great!!
But, on a short track, you might want more low end power for the jumps.
The stock gearing is perfect for a larger track.
Also, go with the ROBO brake, and the AE steering kit, And the AE foward only conversion.
It lightens up the transmission quite a bit. And you won't be needing reverse anyway.
Plus, you take the reverse servo and keep it as a spare for the throttle/brake. Just incase.
And I agree. The red springs will help the roll.

i will do all tose things you recomended plus the lightend chassis. I will also do the things canaiden recomended. Ratzo congrats on the avitar and also what gering do you re3comend<

What do you mean by this? I've never heard of it.

the stock reciever has an internal resistor that drops the voltage to the servos down to 4.8V when the batteries are plugged into the BATT slot on the reciever.if you move it to the "AUX" (channel 4) slot, the voltage doesn't go through the resistor and your servos get the full 6V.don't worry about hurting anything because many people have done it,plus associated even reccomends doing this on their site's help section.you'll get more power to your servos so you'll get better response and torque from them.

dont worry the stock radio is getting trashed asap
