hi I'm new to these forums and want a gas monster truck...i ahve been searching and looking came accross the T-maxx and the GT....which one do u guys think i should get????? i have read the the GT have had problems with reciever shocks and other things...wut about that???? i will not be pushing this at all....just give me ur guys imput...thanx

IMO, I would go with the GT!

But I would also do some looking around first, There are so many new MT's coming out right now! It would be a tough choice for sure! AE GT,new Losi,New Storm MT,CEN, and those are just the ones I can remember right now! If I were getting a new MT right now(and yes I am looking) A traxxas product would not be my first choice!(once again,my opinion) Good luck and welcome! Let us know what you get!

well since its going to be my first one i dont want to get stuck with a bad one and have to buy more parts to fic it...i think I'm gonna get the new savage 25...I'm dgonn aod a little more research and get back to ya on what I'm oging to get....I'm gonn ask alot of questions so just bare with me here..lol thanx

Ok first the problems with the MGT are simple. The set screw that that secure the pins on the Front and Rear CVA's were placed on w/o being properly degreased and when they placed threadlock on them, they backed out still. just go over them and take em out and do what they didn't. Second the receiver has no problem, you just need to put the battery plug in the AUX slot instead of the BATT slot. The Batt slot robs you of 2 volts reducing battery life and FUN time.LOL THe shocks are a BAD design choice since the Piggybacks are NON_FUNCTIONAL!!. Just UPGRADE!!!. The TT 21 engine is not the fastest but it is very strong. It is very easy to tune. Just make sure you change to a Long Plug like A MC-59 or an ODD 99. If you have anymore questions please let me know. I will try to help you. BTW I love my MGT as any owner will take pride in their MT.

Ok I'll add my .02 to this thread seeing that I own both trucks. If you want an rtr and don't plan on running into anything then out of the box the mgt has the better drivetrain. If you plan on bashing really hard over rough terrain where survivability is a concern then the savage is your truck hands down. I personally would recommend building a savage ss yourself doing several mods during the build process to insure that you have a truck that will be around for a good long time without any problems. If you aren't planning to buy for a little while then I'd just wait for the losi lst as it's got everything right out of the box. If it would've been available when I wanted another mt then I'd have bought it instead of the mgt. Do some research and visit the forums for every make and then decide which is best for you.

I'd recommend the Savage for money (price), durability, fun factor and ease of maintenance. It also has ample power for a newbie. And if you decide to go crazy, get the Truckzilla conversion. Go for it!

Savagerocks, Don't underestimate the MGT. THe Savage has tons of support and once the MGT has that, which is soon, IT will be a tougher truck as it is now. It is prtty durable now. All I have really replaced on mine ar bumpers and a CVA. I am still debating on if I should wait till RPM releases a bumper or just get New Era Models

Ok the Truckzilla is pretty cool but the price to do it is pretty hefty. There is plenty of room for someine to go ahead and do a dual engine Mod. I think Bill H is going to do that. Anyways Price is never going to be a fun part of the Versus battle. You spend money either truck. Maintenance is VERY easy as I have taken my MGT apart completely to clean and re-lube. I have a savage in my hands to clean for a buddy and that thing is pretty enclosed. I still like the truck but the EASY Maintenance would fall to the MGT IMO.Power is always upgradeable and inevitable to the avid RC enthusiast. Hell I am getting a P3 for me since I got a screaming deal. In the end what do you want to put the wrench time in? what do you find yourself upgrading. Again cost is high either way. Hope you like whatever truck you get. Bashing is always fun when there is two. who cares what truck just as long as they are both running!!
